Meet Nadana Benain
Nadana Benain is a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist with experience providing evidence-based care across medical, educational, rehabilitation, outpatient, and early intervention settings. She earned her Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University and her Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology from Queens College.
Nadana has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of speech, language, cognitive-communication, feeding, and swallowing disorders. Her clinical experience includes supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder, expressive and receptive language delays, articulation and phonological disorders, fluency, dysphagia, neurogenic communication disorders, and cognitive deficits. She is also experienced in utilizing AAC devices to help nonverbal individuals communicate more effectively and independently. In medical and rehabilitation settings, Nadana has experience conducting swallowing and speech-language assessments for medically complex patients, including individuals with stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, mitochondrial syndromes, and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Throughout her career, Nadana has provided therapy in both in-person and telehealth settings, always striving to create individualized, engaging, and functional treatment plans that support each client's unique goals. She is especially passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, building strong relationships with patients and families while fostering confidence, independence, and meaningful communication skills.
Before becoming an SLP, Nadana spent several years working in behavioral health and community mental health services, where she gained valuable experience in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, psychosocial rehabilitation, and family support. This background continues to shape her holistic, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to therapy.
Nadana holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as her Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certification. She has also completed specialized training in the Modified Barium Swallowing Impairment Profile (MBSImP) and the SPEAK OUT! and LOUD Crowd program through the Parkinson Voice Project.
